Julene Kay Sherman

Julene Kay Sherman, 43, of Stringer entered her Heavenly home Monday, Feb. 12, 2024.

Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. The burial will then take place at Union Line Cemetery in Soso. Brother Darren Dickens and Brother Steve Holloway will officiate. 

Julene was born Sept. 19, 1980, Laurel to William Braxton Sherman and Jeanne Sherman. She was a graduate of Stringer High School and a member of Fair Ridge Baptist Church. Julene was a devoted mother to her son Eli, whom she called her hero.

She was preceded in death by her father William Braxton Sherman; paternal grandparents Braxton William and Olliean Sherman; maternal grandparents Donnie C. and Nettie Smith; and

aunts Sherry Lynn Pierce and Mary Lynn Smith.

She is survived by her son Eli Ervin of Stringer; mother Jeanne Sherman Windham (Wayne) of Laurel; brothers Thomas Daniel Sherman (Gina) and Robby Wilson Sherman of Laurel; aunts and uncles Mary Ann Ashley (Bobby), Linda Lee Hull (Buddy),Jo Yarbrough (Earl), David Smith, Randy Smith (Janet) and Bryon Smith; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She is also survived by the father of their son Sam Ervin (Lindsey); very special friend that loved her and cared for her Anthony Sasser; and extended family Ken and Wanda Ervin.

Pallbearers will be Casey Bynum, Sam Ervin, Braxton Hull, Ricky Hull, Robby Sherman and Tommy Sherman.Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Ashley, Buddy Hull, David Smith, Earl Yarbrough, Randy Smith and Bryon Smith.
