Taylor Swift has revealed she felt ‘lonely’ while she was writing her album Folklore in 2020. At the time, she was in a relationship with actor, Joe Alwyn.

Just as she jetted back from Tokyo to see Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take home the Super Bowl title, Taylor Swift has now jetted off to Australia, for her Eras Tour. It looks like she’s been opening up to the crowd, as she made a ‘shock’ confession about her relationship with Joe Alwyn.

Taylor Swift says she was ‘lonely’ during quarantine with Joe Alwyn

Taking to the stage in Melbourne on Saturday night, the Cruel Summer singer revealed she felt ‘alone’ whilst writing Folklore, as she was quarantining during the pandemic.

“Imagining that instead of being a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair drinking my weight in white wine, I was a ghostly Victorian lady wandering through the woods with a candle in a candlestick holder, and I wrote only on parchment with a feathered quill,” she said to fans as she began to sing the Folklore set.

“That was in my mind what I thought I looked like writing Folklore. That is not what I looked like, so that’s all that matters — the delusion,” the 34-year-old concluded.

The clip is now going viral on TikTok, as fans clock on to the fact she was in a relationship, and living with Joe Alwyn at the time.

It is said that the celebrity couple began dating in 2016, before confirming they had called it quits in April 2023.

Five months later, Taylor went ‘official’ with her current boyfriend Travis Kelce as she was spotted at a Kansas City Chiefs game.

Taylor and Joe kept their relationship very much on the lowdown, however, she’s the complete opposite with her current NFL boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

The two aren’t afraid of showing a little PDA in front of the cameras, and at last week’s Super Bowl after-party, the two were caught on camera serenading each other.

As they smiled and gazed into each other’s eyes, Swiftie’s claimed that they thought Kelce was “definitely the one” for Taylor, as she acted differently with him than previous partners.
