Travis Kelce enjoys the early days of a relationship, but admits he doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve until he feels trust with someone new.
The Super Bowl champ, who kissed his beau Taylor Swift on the NFL field last month, opened up about dating in a podcast that came out just before the celebrity couple went public. Taylor and Travis Kelce showed the world they were an item when the singer attended his game at Arrowhead Stadium. The music star caused a stir in the world of football and the pair are going from strength to strength. Travis has been seen jet-setting across the globe to watch the star at her Eras Tour concerts, and she’s done the same for his games. However, fans were torn over new photos of Taylor and Travis’ date night at the mall when she was in Singapore this month. Despite that, Swifties are shipping the pair until the end of time.
Travis Kelce opens up about all parts of a relationship

Five days before Taylor was seen at Arrowhead Stadium (September 24, 2023), Travis’ podcast interview with Let’s Be Honest With Kristin Cavallari aired on YouTube.
Titled, Getting into The Mind of a Man With Travis Kelce, the athlete didn’t dodge any questions about relationships, dating and red flags. If only Kristin knew the internet would break when they saw the music star in the VIP suite! Taylor told Time Magazine the pair were an official item when she made an appearance, so when this interview aired, Trav was already in a committed relationship.
Cute.
But he did open up on how he feels about first dates, and where trust plays a vital role for a star who is dating within the spotlight. We’re not sure if the podcast host knew deep down what was to come – that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s relationship would take over headlines over the world – with her question on trust.
She asks Travis: “Being in the spotlight, does trust become an issue, especially when it comes to dating? Sometimes it’s hard to know if someone likes you for you, or you plus everything that comes with you. So how do you know when you actually trust a girl?”
The 34-year-old didn’t skip a beat, denying he has any ‘red flags’ he has noted down for dating someone.
“See, that’s where I feel the peak of the ‘relationship’ grows,” Travis said.
“Initially I can’t trust anybody, [when you] feel that genuine trust with someone that’s where I feel it can take off.
“I am going [into dating] with curtains drawn, jail bars, I am going with everything secure before it’s locked down, until I really get to know somebody.”
The tight end doesn’t have any red flags
When asked if had any red flags he avoids, the celebrity admitted he doesn’t.
The 34-year-old said: “I feel I give everybody a chance to really just show who they are genuinely. I feel I got a good gauge just understanding who is being mysterious or mischievous about things.”
Kristin Cavallari also asked the tight end if he ever gets nervous on first dates, but Trav is cool as a cucumber.
“Nah, I think that’s the point I finally get to be myself in front of somebody, that’s when I want to show my true genuine self the most,” he explained.
“That’s where I am at ease. When I try to do something really special for somebody, that’s when I get nervous.”
